For years, these communities have been dedicated to creating traditional crafts that showcase their culture and heritage, offering handmade products made from alpaca wool.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT PÁRAMO MEANS?

Is an unique ecosystem of the Andes region, that is characterised by its geographic location, by the type of climate, by its flora, fauna and vegetation.
It is found at altitudes ranging from 3100 meters to 5000 meters above sea level, they extend from Venezuela, Ecuador, Perú and Colombia.
The function of the Páramo is water retention and water regulation, they allow in times of drought and during the summers that the water retained at these altitudes is contributed by runoff and gradually to the lowlands, since, in these areas they are where, rivers, streams or aqueducts are generated.
They are the sanctuaries of fresh water!
